How Lives Can Change

Has something ever happened so suddenly it impacts you and the ones surrounding you? It

depends how you interpret this situation. This could impact your life in a positive or negative

way. In the stories “A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley,” and in the stories “Profile:

Malala Yousafzai” and “The Night Tourist,” Scrooge, Malala, and Euri undergoes major

changes as the result of sudden events in their lives.

In the play “A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley,” the character of Scrooge undergoes

a change from a cruel miser to a joyful, generous individual as a result of a visit from the

three spirits. The ghost of Christmas Past, Present and Future shows Scrooge events from his

life will positively affect him and others around him. “Spirit! Hear me! I am not the man I was.

I will not be the man I would have been but for this intercourse. Why show me this, if I am past

all hope?” Being a generous kind person is the key to life. (My Perspectives page 284)

In the story “Profile: Malala Yousafzai” the character of Malala goes from being a young poor

school girl to being world famous. This all because she was shot and she survived. Militants got

to her school and shot her and two of her friends. Malala survived the wound and her

hospitalization, then went to the U.K. She took her campaign worldwide and now she is all over

the media. “From delicate surgery at Pakistani military hospital to further operations and

treatment in the U.K, and afterword’s as she took her campaign worldwide has been closely

followed by the worlds media.”  She is a different girl than she was four years ago.

(Profile: Malala Yousafzai page 1 stanza 7)

In the story “The Night Tourist” Euri goes from being a poor young school girl to being dead

and living in the underworld. This all happened because she wasn’t happy with life so she killed

herself. Euri was not happy with life, so one day on her way home she jumped in front of a train

and killed herself. “She paused, and Jack waited for her to continue. ‘The circle means suicide.

I have a circle.’” Euri says she regrets doing it, and she wishes she could go back and see the

people she misses. (The Night Tourist page 134)

In conclusion, lives can be changed very quickly and suddenly. It all depends how you react

to the change slowly, myriad or if the change is permanent like Euri. You should react positively,

so you have a better chance of things going good like for Malala.

This is my life, golf is my life. I love golfing so much. I golf with my dad and his friends a lot in scrambles. I have a golf coach and he says he sees potential in me. I try my hardest for my family. In the one of the pictures you will see me on the left and Marissa Steen on the right. She was a little older than me when she started going to our golf coach. She is now playing in the LPGA traveling all over. One day I hope I make it as far as her and play pro golf too.

Extraordenary Ohio

A place to visit in Ohio is Maid-rite. There are only two Maid-Rites in the world. Maid-Rite sells milkshakes, malts, chips, dinks and more. And did I mention people from all over stick there chewed gum on the walls? Outside of Maid-Rite there is chewed gum everywhere. I have even put my gum on the walls before.

My favorite sport is golfing. Its not an easy sport even though some people think it is. This is the Scarlet and Gray golf course in Ohio. If you love golfing and want a challenge this is your course. Even just walking the course is amazing. If you have any questions you can ask me. I crossed that bridge.

This is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame you could find many different singers, rappers and more. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is located in Cleveland Ohio. There are also highlights of older and newer concerts. On different days the workers there celebrate different types on music by different artist on different days.

My Bucket List

  • Get a tattoo
  • Play LPGA one day
  • See the Northern Lights
  • Get married
  • Work as a physical trainer on a football team

Week 3: Activity 10

Can you guess my four pictures and one word?

Week 3: Activity 7

First look at the picture shown below. Then the first person to comment will say what they think they will see if we zoomed out. Then all the people after that would comment what they think they would see next if we zoomed out even more. Be sure before you comment you read the comments before yours so it all makes sense. Make sure to comment!

What would you see if you “zoomed” out?

Week 3: Activity 5
